The Libraries generally do not have textbooks in their collections.

  • If your class textbook has not arrived on time for the beginning of class or is sold out at the bookstore, please contact your professor to make arrangements until your textbook arrives or the bookstore can restock the item.
  • Sometimes, through the professor, the publisher will provide the first chapters needed in electronic format (if available) until your textbook arrives.

As a policy, Davenport does not borrow textbooks. Borrowing the textbook from other libraries as an alternative to a student purchasing the textbook for their class is not a workable solution. Because Interlibrary loan (ILL) materials can only be kept for a few weeks and are subject to immediate recall at any time, you would not be able to keep it long enough and copying the whole book is a violation of the copyright law.
