Share Web Content
If you want to share content you found on the open web (assuming it has no instruction on usage limitations and is original with the website creator), you can:
- Link to it freely (giving credit to the author), with the understanding that it may go away at any time.
- Ask the creator for permission to use the content in your classes. If granted, you can make a permanent copy (depending on how they word their permission) and load it for your students, knowing it will always be there.
Share DU Database Content
To share an item you found in DU's databases, you can:
- Provide the database link for all your students to access it. Here is a guide on How to Link Articles from Databases that may help you.
- Provide a copy of the material (like a PDF) for your students, and include this general copyright statement (PDF Download).
- If you are using an article you received from Inter-Library Loan, it is required that you put the PDF of the article behind a login, such as your course shell in Blackboard. That way you will avoid violating copyright.
